Get Help
Hi! I'm Glen James.
I'm the creator and host of Retire Right.
I have developed a panel of financial professionals who could support you as you prepare for your retirement.
The skill and expertise of a professional is so valuable in areas relating to pre-retirement.
If you would like to speak to an adviser, feel free to have a look at the list of advisers below who I know and trust.
I don’t work for free, and neither should you. Please know the listed businesses pay as a show supporter to be included.
If you're in any doubt, ask a friend or family member for a referral to a financial adviser they've used and are happy with.
Not sure which team is right for you?
Click "Get Help", tell me a bit about your situation, and I'll personally introduce you to the team I think would be the most appropriate fit.
Cheers, Glen.

Life Sherpa - Very online & low human touch advice
Life Sherpa is an online financial advice platform built to make quality advice affordable and accessible for everyday working Australians, whatever they earn, own or owe. Rather than the traditional model, members get access to licensed, salaried advisers via phone or video, plus courses, budgeting tools and resources covering home loans, super, insurance and investing. The vibe is practical, transparent and judgement-free. Perfect for people who've never had advice before, or assumed they couldn't afford it, and want ongoing guidance without the hefty price tag. Everest Wealth - Under 50?
Everest Wealth is on a mission to give as many young Australians as possible the financial confidence to build wealth they never imagined. They work with ambitious young professionals who are working hard and want to make their money work just as hard, helping them save, invest and protect what they've built. Their advice covers cash flow and budgeting, investing (shares, ETFs, ethical options, property and managed funds), personal insurances, super and the First Home Super Saver Scheme, and estate planning. They also have a dedicated arm for medical professionals, from paramedics and nurses to doctors, dentists and allied health. The vibe is energetic, values-driven and all about helping you live richly rather than die rich. If you're early in your career and want to move from wages to wealth, this is your team.
Atlas Wealth Management - Expat or repatriating to Australia?
Atlas Wealth is the specialist for Australian expats, providing financial advice, tax, mortgages and asset management to Aussies living and working overseas. Established in 2011, they now look after clients in over 50 countries. This is the advice business for moving overseas, living overseas while keeping ties to Australia, or repatriating home, plus the tricky cross-border tax and residency stuff most advisers won't touch. The vibe is expert, globally minded and built entirely around the expat experience. If you're an Australian abroad (or about to be) and want a team that genuinely understands tax residency, expat super and the financial curveballs of living overseas, speak with Atlas today.
What about mortgages?
Sphere Home Loans is a strategy-first mortgage broking team that thinks long-term, helping Australians secure the right loan with confidence rather than just the cheapest rate today. They map out your property plan first, handle all the complicated bits, and stick around long after settlement to reprice, review and adapt your loan as life changes. They work with clients at every stage, from first home buyers and those still saving a deposit, to investors, upsizers, downsizers and complex lending situations like self-employed income, trusts and multiple properties. Their brokers are salaried employees rather than commission-driven, and they compare 60-plus lenders and 800-plus loan products to find the right fit for you. The vibe is switched-on, straight-talking and genuinely in your corner for the long haul. If you're buying, refinancing or building a portfolio anywhere in Australia, this is your team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure who on the list is right for you? I can help by introducing you. Just click "Get Help", give me a few basic details about your situation, and I'll align you with a professional on my panel to suit.
I will not ask you for your personal bank account details, account numbers, tax file numbers, address or date of birth etc. I only need a high level idea of your situation. This high level information will be passed on to the professional I introduce you to so they can have a snapshot of your situation. I will not ask for any information that is sensitive under the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth).
My advice partners line up with my own philosophy and beliefs, work Australia-wide and are primarily online advisers to give you the most flexibility.
They will offer you an initial phone call or Zoom/Teams meeting with you at no cost to ask about you, explain their process and to see if they can add value! If you decide to engage with them, they will be clear on any costs associated before you do so.

Seeing a trusted adviser is beneficial when:
- You want to invest for the future.
- You are looking to start a family and need to ensure they are protected if the worst happened.
- You need help with setting up a good cash flow plan.
- If you’ve ever thought: "I earn too much to feel this broke".
- Financially speaking, you feel like your life is a mess!
- You have a million super accounts and don't know where to start.
- Perhaps you have been told you need income insurance and you want more information.
- You don’t have a mortgage broker and would like your existing mortgage reviewed.
- You are looking to buy your first home or investment property.
While you do not always need an ongoing relationship with a financial adviser, a great adviser will be of immense value to you from time-to-time for specific things.

- The have a clear and easy to understand fee model.
-

No. There is no cost for you to use my referral service. Some of the referral partners are advertisers on the podcast/s, some pay us a referral fee and others do not. If the professional that I refer you to is paying us a fee for the referral, it’s a legal requirement that this will be disclosed to you by them. This is one way we make money but this also ensures that you are getting help from trusted professionals.
